It's been over 3 weeks since the positive tests and I can hardly believe how fast time is moving. 1 more week till we get in to see the doctor and hopefully "hear" the heartbeat. I should probably combine this week with Week 8 but I promise to update sooner next time.
It's been a busy week. We took a trip to Pontiac this past weekend which was a bit nerve wracking for me. I wasn't quite sure how I was going to "fake drink" around friends but all went well. We usually go to the bar on Friday nights but the boys planned poker, so Adelle, Allyson and I (plus Gypsy!) lounged on the couch and gossiped about Facebook friends, my favorite weekend activity! Saturday, I spent most of the day lounging watching golf and ended up falling asleep about 8:30! This brings me to my current stage of pregnancy....exhaustion! I thought it was bad last week, well it's even worse. I don't want to do anything else. No complaints though because I love me some sleep.
This week, unfortunately, brought the realization that I should buy a few pairs of pants to get me through the rest of winter and early spring. Most of my current sets fit but weren't the least bit comfortable. The new pairs are certainly too big but hopefully they last me another 10+ weeks before I bust out the elastic stuff. Funny story: On Friday night, I wore a pair of corduroys that I've had for a while. They have a bit of stretch so they still fit fine. While driving up north, I was getting a bit uncomfortable so I unbuttoned them and told Joe not to let me forget to re-button them when we got to the restaurant where we were meeting all our friends. I'm sure you can guess, but I forgot to re-button them and didn't realize it for almost 2 hours. I'm guessing no one noticed though. Joe and I had a nice laugh about that the next day.

So what's happening with the babe this week? (sidenote: I need to come up with a better nickname. Me thinks that will be on the to-do list for the weekend.) Anyways, baby is the size of a blueberry. Last week was sweet pea, this week blueberry. Those seem the same size to me but whatevs. S/he is already a genius because the brain is generating 100 new cells every minute. Let's hope they keep going so we can stockpile them for a while because I'm sure his/her college years will kill a couple thousand or so. The kidney's are also permanently in place. That's good, the renal system is not something I want to screw up. The arms and legs are starting to extend as well.
So that's week 7. I move to week 8 tomorrow and if you're lucky, I might even get the mister to take a bump picture. I figure we have to start somewhere and let's be honest, I'm not getting any smaller. See ya on the flip side!
