Sleep: Same old, same old in this category. Bedtime is at 6:45p and wake up is about 6:30a. Naps are daily from 11:30a to 1:30p. Still a rockstar sleeper who never fights it when it's time for some shut eye. Now that I'm thinking of it, I think we went a whole month without the little man wiggling his way into our bed. It usually happens one night a month when he wakes up in the middle of the night for whatever reason and has trouble getting back to sleep. Not this month though! I thought for sure when Joe was out of town for a few nights last week that he would be up but he slept through the night like normal. It's usually without fail that when Dad is not around to help with bedtime duty that he sleeps a little restless and wakes. I was so lucky that he did fine. I think the FaceTiming before bed may have helped.

Food: Thankfully, Barrett is doing a little better about eating these days. There are still times where he goes to bed without eating but it's not daily like it has been recently. We need to work on getting his milk consumption up but his daily yogurt and cheese help. He still loves all things marinara sauce. It's daily that the kid begs for either a popsicle or a sucker. We've resorted to spelling so much these days because we can't say certain words without dealing with the consequences.

Size: Since I'm so late in posting this, I can mention Barrett's size from his 2 year well check with Dr. Murray. He is 27 lbs, 3 oz which is basically no growth from his last check up (which was probably 4 months ago or more). I didn't get a print out of where he falls on the growth chart but I think it was something like 38%. His height is exactly 35 inches which makes him the 66%, I think. Perfectly average kiddo. Speaking of Dr. Murray, we had quite the trip to her office this week. She is never running late but was swamped with sick kids which made her almost an hour late for our visit (we were the last one of the day which really pushed us back.) B is usually okay with hanging out in the waiting room, playing, but he wanted none of that today. Thank goodness Joe came with because we were able to tag team him and go on walks to the drinking fountain. Not even the tv in the waiting room (or the iPad I brought) was keeping his attention.

Speaking of iPad, I may have mentioned here that B got one for his birthday. It took probably less than a week for him to really get the hang of it. One of his favorite apps are "Wheels on the Bus" which plays various games like Truck Memory and Pick the truck. Kid loves all forms of transportation right now. Another favorite app is "Sound Touch" which is various pages of pictures and when you click on each picture, it makes a noise. There is an animal page, musical instrument page, household items pages (like telephone and clock), transportation page (busses, motorcycles) and etc. He also loves the "Nouns" app which is basically flashcards. They put up 4 pictures of various things and ask him to tap the toaster or veterinarian or broccoli.

Each month I think it's crazy how fast he's learning words and that still continues this month. He's using tons of multi-word sentences to ask for things like "Come here, please" or "Wear jacket outside?" or my personal favorite "No, I do it!" (sarcasm) His teachers love mostacholi day because he says it so freaking funny. He is a pro at saying Thank You. I die of cute a little each time he says "Bless you, Mommy" in his little toddler voice. He's such a sweetheart.

I want to be sure to mention Little Man's favorite books right now. The ones in a current rotation are "Tuck me In", "ABCs of Golf", "ABCs of Wrigley Field", "Goodnight Moon", "Hungry Caterpillar" and "All of Babies Nose and Toes." We have a pretty set routine after we read a few books and it includes B climbing up to turn on his humidifier and then grabbing his 2 blankies and puppy. He gives the best hugs goodnight which include a pat on the back. Heart melt.

I have to mention this cute tidbit from a few nights ago. B is one of those kids that winds down well with tv so he usually gets about 15 minutes before bed time. Joe asked him if he wanted to watch football game and he proceeds to whine "No, Cinderelly!". Ha! The Disney movie brainwashing has begun. Toy Story is still the only ones that can keep his full attention for the entire movie but he's been very infatuated with Finding Nemo (which he calls Memo) lately. We've also shown him parts of Cinderella (obviously), Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan, Jungle Book and Monsters Inc recently. He'll be all ready to go for our trip next year!

Barrett loves to sing songs and usually complies when we ask him too. He can count from 1-13 completely by himself. After his birthday though, his absolute favorite is the Happy Birthday song. We've watched this video probably 200 times. Just like in the end of the clip, he says "one more time" after each playing.
Barrett is still really loving his school. He likes to be a difficult 2 year old at drop offs some mornings by clinging to me but before I even get around to the viewing window he's off and running and playing with the kids. Miss Kelli is one of his very favorites. It helps that her daughter, Mya, also has a thing for him. He just got a new picture to bring home from Mya this week. B also has developed a bestie, Sean. Sean's mom usually drops him off and picks him up within minutes of when I do so they are almost never without each other at school. There are days where I get him and Sean is already gone and Miss Kelli tells me he has been crying for 5 minutes because Sean left him! On days when he's leery to leave him in the morning, his teachers can tell him that they are going to look out the window for school buses and Sean and he perks right up! They know what he likes! It's great too because Sean's birthday is Oct 13 (my due date with B) so they will pretty much always move up to the next room with each other. They are adorable!

A few things B does really well right now is holding hands when we walk places. It's the first thing he does when we get out of the car in the mornings. He will also say cheese for pictures (though just once) when I ask him too. He's finally got an interest in coloring lately and requests to "colla" anytime he sees the crayons out.
Lastly, my very favorite Barrettism right now happens when he's in a cuddly mood. He'll be watching tv or a movie and will look at Joe or I and while patting the seat next to him says "Mommy" or "Daddy". We are sure to grant his request. How can you not?

He's the sweetest boy. We love him so!
