I've decided to name age 2 as the "the bi-polar" age. We're close enough to Barrett's birthday that we've witnessed a few of these instances already. Kid is a roller coaster of emotions! Thankfully, I'm a really patient person most of the time that I am able to let it pass. (Joe?..not so much.). An example:
We had corn for dinner which resulted in meltdown city because we had the gaul to serve it to him off the cob.
But! With the frustrating lows, come super highs too. Joe picked up B from daycare today (usually my job). As they got in the car, Joe asked him what he wanted to do and his response was "Call mommy." I had a surprise call on my commute home! Add in the big run and hug I got when I walked in the door while he says his famous "Hi Mommy!" Nothing better!
I'll take the terrible twos if they include the terrific twos.
