Farmer birthday party!

2 year old

Yep, finally managing to recap the big 2 year party only a few weeks late. :)

We went with a farm/country theme because B is obsessed with farm animals and their noises. I thought I took pictures of the food table but apparently not. We made chili and buffalo chicken soup for the main meal and then had cornbread muffins, caramel apples, fruit, chips and hummus and cake, of course. Cake was cow print! We had about 30 extra pieces so I had my fair share of cake for a few weeks after.

Barrett got a little timid when everyone started singing happy birthday to him. He loves to be a little ham until he realizes that people are staring at him. He did good with blowing out his candles and is now a pro. We've since had to practice a bunch of times!

Little man, of course, was a spoiled boy who got an insane number of gifts. Ever since he was born, we've decided to separate his gifts, so each month we open something new for him to play with. We do the same at Christmas and it works really well so he isn't bombarded with stuff at once and gets fun new toys to play with in the spring and summer. That means he has a closet full of unopened toy boxes. I also think my sisters and Mom bought the entire boy section of BabyGap. He did okay with opening his gifts but was definitely distracted and wanted to go off and play.

The best part about this party was that we had it at home so he was able to go off and do anything and I knew he was mostly safe. He played in the backyard with his cousins for like 2 hours! I got to eat my entire meal without being interrupted or having to check on him. It was great! We were so thankful that even though almost everyone had to drive aways to come to the party, we still managed to have about 40 guests. We are so thankful! We travel all the time for holidays and events and it was nice to not have to for once.
