16 weeks

16 weeks, 4 days

4 months! FOUR! That means only six more! For some reason, this milestone has hit me hard. I feel like we have so much to do. I know that we have plenty of time but realistically, I'm almost halfway through! I keep telling myself that we'll get it all done. I guess as long as we have a bed, clothes, food, and diapers, we're good to go. (Vent over....)

The big milestone this week was purchasing some maternity clothes. (I realize you are all looking at my bump pictures and scratching your head. Pictures can be deceiving, okay?) We only have a Motherhood Maternity in town and very few maternity sections in stores, so I ordered mostly online. I started out with basics. Some shorts, capri's, a handful of cami's in different colors, a few dresses (hopefully one will work for a wedding we have in two weeks) and some tops. Jury is still out since they haven't arrived yet but hopefully we have a bunch of winners.

Let's move on to my eating habits, shall we? In short....It's bad. I think I had ice cream 4 days in a row this week. Frozen pizza is my dinner of choice at least one night a week which pretty much never happened pre-baby. Cooking is the last thing I want to do anymore. But for some reason, I still buy an insane amount of food at the grocery store. I went solo last week and vowed to never do that again. I need Joe there to hold me accountable because half the things I buy end up sitting in the fridge or pantry.

I have my next doctor appointment on Wednesday and I'm very much looking forward to it. It has been almost 5 weeks since I was there and I need some reassurance via the doppler that all is well. Recap coming eventually...

16-avocado

We have reached the avocado week! (It makes me think of the yummy guacamole we had at Bryan and Lacey's the other night.) It's this week that my emails say I may start to feel the baby moving. I've been extra observant to pay attention to any "flutters" that may be going on inside me but so far nothing. I'm really not expecting it for a few more weeks though. Apparently, the eyes have shifted to be more in the front of the head. Um, I thought they already were in the front but now I'm picturing my offspring with eyes next to his/her ears. Baby Rufio should also be able to hear what is going on around me. I didn't realize I was going to have to start watching what I say this early! I should be more worried about what his/her father and our friends say though!

  1. Baby Rufio!

Do they really compare the baby to a fruit the entire time? I'm running out of fruits! Cantelope...watermelon?
