17 weeks

17 weeks, 2 days

I've decided that my progression of belly pictures is pretty lame. I feel like in person I've popped in my clothes but these pictures don't really show that much.

Joe and I went out to Indigo for dinner last night. (They have the most amazing melt-in-your-mouth filets.) I had on a extra long tunic shirt with an empire waist and skinny jeans. To Joe and I, my bump was significant but if we were to ask the other patrons, they would think I just had something extra going on in the stomach, I think. Although, I did catch another couple next to us stare at me while walking to the bathroom and again while walking back. Maybe I'm being paranoid but it seemed like they were trying to decide if I was pregnant or not.

Week 10 Week 11 Week 12 Week 13 Week 14 Week 15 Week 16 Week 17

My sleep has been sort of restless this week. Lots and lots of dreams which wake me up numerous times a night. Last night, I had one where we were at our Gender Reveal party and the guests ate all the cake that we had set aside to reveal the sex. All that was left was one piece and I flipped my lid on everyone. (For those interested, the cake was bright pink.) I also had a dream last night where my parents did a huge remodel to their house. They put on a second story, then adopted some chick and spoiled the heck out of her. I woke up pissed off! I wonder what that means?

I was able to get out and play my first official round of golf on Sunday (I'm not counting the scramble we played the other weekend because I didn't use just my score.) It's safe to say, I played like crap. While the weather was crazy windy and really cold, I should have played much better. I keep hearing that pregnancy should improve my game, because my center of gravity is conducive to golf. Well let's hope that's the case because I plan to stick it out as long as I can this summer. My goal is to get to the St. Mary's Golf Outing when I'm 31 weeks along. ::Fingers crossed::

I'm not sure if I can classify this as nesting quite yet but I've been going to town with cleaning and organizing this week. I spent 3 hours on Wednesday tearing apart my office at work. Taking everything off shelves and rearranging, going through files, cleaning all the windows and sills, etc. It was fun but I paid for it that night. My body was so tired which is incredibly sad and pretty pathetic to think about. It makes me really worried about our trip in a few weeks to Disney. Allyson and I typed up our itinerary this week and it is jam.packed. My mom joked that we needed to schedule in bathroom breaks. I know I'm going to be exhausted but I'm bound and determined to push through. Luckily, I can take some extra breaks while my mom and sisters ride some of the rides that I can't.

No other physical stats to report this week. My linea negra might be getting a bit darker but who knows. Not to be a tease or anything, but we are probably about 75% set on a boys name. I figure this guarantees that we are having a girl because we are nowhere near coming up with a girl name. We agreed this week that our anniversary gift this year to each other is all the nursery furniture. A bit lame? Probably. Responsible? Yes. Most everything is picked out but still working on the crib. I've agreed to wait it out until the sex is revealed which is really fine since we have no where to even put the stuff yet.

17-onion

Baby is an onion! The big milestone this week is that the skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone. Rachel has been concerned that my low consumption of milk is hindering this from happening but I can assure you all that I am not lacking in the dairy department. I eat a yogurt every day for my early afternoon snack and there is no shortage in the amount of cheese I consume. Moving on.... Baby T is measuring about 5 in and is approximately the size of my palm. S/he is comparable to a bar of soap. My favorite milestone this week is that the babies fingers and toes are marked with prints. How permanent! and real!

Maternity clothes should be delivered today so stayed tuned for a clothes update after they have arrived. I'm gonna need opinions specifically on accessories and shoes to wear for a wedding in two weeks. I can't seem to make this decision on my own.

Happy Early Mother's Day, Moms!

  1. I have the opposite problem...I can't think of any boy names. Hopefully the pink cake was a premonition that it's a girl!

  2. We were sure that we would just use whatever names were still on our list after having Brayden, but wow how that has changed now that Baby is on it's way! I am dying to get into the nursery and get Brayden moved into the other room, but he's just not quite ready. I did a lot of cleaning this week too! :) Happy Mother's Day!
