This week went by crazy fast! (I guess I could really say that about these last 20 weeks as well!)
As you can see, I changed shirts. It was time. I know it's black and that's depressing but I wanted something solid and this was my best option. If I have any pregnant ladies reading this, get yourself a bunch of Body V-neck T's from Gap. They are the shit. I've already got two and may stock up on all the colors before summer is over.
Moving on....I have to mention this story of Joe from a few days ago. He let me know that he had a work event on Thursday evening in Taylorville which is about an hour away. My first reaction is "oh, okay. I just won't make dinner. I can figure something out for just me." His first reaction is "I knowwww, it's picture day but we'll make sure to take it as soon as I'm home." Ha! I've trained him well. :)

I'm calling this week the week of ice cream (cookies n cream to be specific) rather than the cantelope week. It's quite ridiculous really but it's soooo good. I've had a bowl every night since Sunday. I've already decided that a blizzard is a necessity come Sunday. Otherwise, business as usual in the food department. BOR.ING. Everyone keeps asking if I'm having any odd cravings and I kinda wish I would, just so that I would have something interesting to add to this.
Edited to add: I just saw a commercial for Dr. Pepper and I want one so bad now! I've had one sip of caffeine this whole pregnancy though so I'm planning to stick to that. And not because I think it's bad for the baby, moreso just a personal goal I've set for myself.
I started researching the hospital that I will be delivering at this week. We will have a full hospital tour but from what I've read I will have my own family suite with built in jacuzzi tub. I plan to take full advantage of the amenities! Speaking of classes, I think Joe and I have decided on taking four to prepare us (but, mostly him) for the baby. The first is "Birth and Beyond" which covers the basic birth, includes the hospital tour, talks about arrival into the hospital once I go into labor, general newborn care, what we should look for in a pediatrician, and answers any other questions we may have. Class #2 is "Prepared Childbirth" which will discuss more specific aspects of birth like breathing methods, relaxation techniques, c-sections and inductions methods. I'm really looking forward to taking this with Joe. I've pretty much researched obsessively on labor and delivery for two years now so I feel like I'm pretty in the know of what we will be discussing. But Joe is clueless and I think he will really enjoy this one....even though it's going to be a long 8 hours. Class #3 is "Infant Safety." This one is pretty much mandatory in my book. It covers CPR, childproofing the home, car seat safety and so on. And finally, Class #4 is Breastfeeding. Obviously, this one is pretty self explanatory.
So yeah, we will be spending quite a few hours in class this summer. I joked with Joe that we should sign him up for the "Super-dads" class but he wasn't all for that.

Baby cantelope is halfway grown! S/he is working on swallowing and digestion by ingesting amniotic fluid every day. Since the taste buds have formed, s/he is already increasing its palate. It's said that what I'm eating will come through the amniotic fluid. So after birth, the baby will be more apt to like these foods. Very interesting! I expect lots of trips for ice cream and cheetos. Also, it is said that the baby is getting accustomed to day and night so I may start to feel the baby be more active at a specific time of day as a result. I'm just really looking forward to feeling the baby on a more regular basis.
Tomorrow is doctor day!
Holy hell you've popped this week! I thought the black shirt would make you look smaller, but you have such a nice curvy belly bump! Ahh! I think with all the ice cream cravings that I'm sticking with girl...we'll find out for sure tomorrow at the cookout!

ReplyDeleteIt's interesting that you both think I've popped since you just saw me 5 days ago.
ReplyDeleteLinds, I promise I will make sure you have video feed before the reveal happens.
I am looking into those shirts from the Gap right this very second. And yes, you have popped this week! Have fun with the classes. I took a breastfeeding class when I was pregnant with Brayden- but that was it. I wish we would have done at least the child birth class BUT it was busy season all around, and Brandon just couldn't get away. I should have at least explained a C-section to him though! :)
