The saga that is maternity clothes.

3 days in a row of posts? Things are getting crazy up in here.

Warning: I sound like a whiney baby.

This weekend, I received my first delivery of maternity clothes. I was really looking forward to moving into more comfortable stuff and was excited when the knock on the door came Saturday morning with a huge package of goods. I started trying everything on and very quickly became frustrated. Everything was big! I had ordered two dresses, one of which was non maternity. The non-maternity was even big.

Cute, right? Well, it's going back.


I ordered a handful of cami's in solid colors. Those were decent but again, pretty big. I decided to keep those because eventually I'm going to get bigger and hopefully they will last me until the baby is here. (I have a feeling I might not get so lucky though.)

To continue the cycle, all 5 tops I ordered were also big. The length is fine and I'm gonna need that length, but it's the fact that they swim on me that is not so hot.

The biggest downer were the bottoms I ordered. It's really the only thing that I need at this point and they just weren't right. They fit great in the thighs but don't really look right. I'm keeping them out of necessity but I have to cover them up with two tops so they look halfway decent. Don't even get me started on finding jeans.

The most annoying part of this whole process is that I cannot go to a store and actually look at clothes. Motherhood Maternity and Target are the only stores in the area that carry maternity and none of the selection are quite for me. This means I have to order everything online and hope they work. I have a feeling the post office will know me quite well in the next few months.


So rather than ending on a bad note, I did get a strong winner in one of my deliveries. Thank you sweet baby Jesus! It really was the one thing that I needed to work because I have to wear it for a wedding in a week and a half. If I had to order something else, I may have ended up wearing pajamas (which wouldn't match so well with Joe's tuxedo.) This is where you guys come in. I need shoes and jewelry. Thoughts? Nude heels like on the model? A fun color? Either way, I have to go out and buy something so whatcha think?
