21 weeks

21 weeks, 5 days

I'm extra late this week but it's been an insane few days of catching up with life after vaca. Luckily for you (or maybe not?), I have a bunch of new material to update the blog with....in due time.

The best milestone of this week was that I was able to feel the baby kick regularly and much stronger. Before it was flutters but Wednesday while taking a rest before heading to dinner on vacation, he was going crazy with kicks. It's such a weird sensation. Don't get me wrong, it's cool but very strange. Since Wednesday, he has been really regular with kicking and I've gotten pretty used to it. Last night, just after dinner, he was going to town and I thought I could feel it from the outside of my stomach but wasn't sure. I yelled to Joe and he hurried up to see if I was right. Not even 30 seconds later, he jabbed right into Joe's palm. He had this uncertain look on his face and asked "Was that it?" And it happened again. It was very very cool.

I can also say that this week I made my first official baby purchase.
1st purchase

Two onsies from Magic Kingdom. The red one has a Mickey head on the front but it was the back that made me pull the trigger. And I couldn't get just one thing so the blue one was in honor of baby daddy. If he is anything like his father, Baby T will think he is 100% awesome. :)

I also made a purchase that I've been patiently waiting to make since finding out we were having a baby.

Each tie is a sticker that we will put on a plain white onsie and take pictures on every "monthday." There is 12 ties total. It's the same concept as belly pictures but the monthly pictures will show the progression of how he grows throughout the year until he's 1. Joe picked them out and of course he went with green! If this kid doesn't like green, we're screwed.

Physically speaking, I've been feeling pretty fantastic. Although, it was a very taxing vacation with miles and miles of walking, I still made it through. My feet and ankles did swell up to an insane amount on our last afternoon in the parks and it was incredibly painful. I figured that was a sign that I had overdone it a bit.

21-banana

We have reached the banana week. Baby BOY is moving around like crazy which should feel more like kicks rather than flutters. Yep, that's happening! A pattern may develop where you notice he is being more active during certain times of day. That's happening too! Just after I eat! The main project for baby boy these days is putting on weight. He has such a rough life!

  1. You and your monthly pictures! By the time Baby reaches his first birthday, you will have to get pregnant again so you have a reason to take them. I do love the ties!

We'll leave that up to Aunt Ally and Uncle Eric. Also, I'm awesome at picking out ties.
