Hall Bathroom: Before

1 year, 3 months, 11 days old

You didn't think we could go too long without starting another project, did you? Last weekend, we tackled the hall bath. Other than cleaning when we first moved in, it hasn't been touched. The walls don't look too bad in the pictures but they were diiiiirty. We figured it was a mix of hairspray, gunk and other waste. I don't even want to think about. It was gross.

The space has pretty much been ignored for a year and half but it was time. I'm calling it our winter project.

Bathroom picture taking leaves a lot to be desired.

We have a very basic bathroom with a vanity, toilet and shower. The vanity is not extremely functional but I'm cheap, so it's staying. We'll eventually get around to replacing it. I can't just leave the ugly wood grain though so it is getting painted.

Yes, that ugly orange is gone. There will be a new faucet and vanity top. I really really wanted to put trim around the mirror but Joe crushed my dreams when he said it wouldn't be center based on the size and placement of the mirror. Boo!

The light, while acceptable, is not stylish so that is gone, too. The walls and trim are obviously getting painted which in and of itself will be a huge difference! We'll have new towel and toilet paper holder fixtures, knobs for all the cabinets, shower curtain and art.

The only things not getting touched are the floors (eventually!), the toilet (also eventually!) and shower. The best part of this project is that, as I'm writing, about 90% is already done! It was two full days of almost non-stop work while trying to wrangle a toddler but it looks so much better already. I'll be back with an update soon when all the final touches are done!
