~My apologies for the quiet around here lately. I don't know if it's this lame weather or work eating at my soul (probably both) but I'm pretty uninspired lately. I just looked back and I've only posted like 5 times this month! Yikes! There are some WEEKS where I can post 5 times, let alone only that many in a MONTH. Maybe if I had pictures to show you, I would have something to post but alas I'm not even doing much of that besides my Project 365 pictures.
~We had water in our basement over the weekend. We were gone all weekend and came home to find that it was wet. The water was gone but it was very clear (on the rugs, carpet remnants and Christmas tree box especially) that we got water throughout the entire basement. Joe's hunting gear was pretty drenched but most of the rest of our storage stuff is in totes so we were safe. We do have a bunch of plastic baby gear out (jumperoo, swing, etc.) but nothing that couldn't get a little wet on the bottoms. Don't even get me started on what our backyard is like…..an absolute swamp.
~Speaking of the backyard, we've had issues with keeping it dry all spring. We thought we had a busted field tile because Joe built a trench and it literally ran and ran and ran with water almost constantly. We think we're just going to need to get a bobcat and completely regrade the entire yard. Luckily, the grass we have back there is mostly weeds and we have no landscaping yet so it could be worse. If you've seen how big the yard is, you will know how much of a treat that is going to be. Our entire neighborhood drains to the swell in our backyard so we can thank our 100 closest neighbors for the gift. Last summer was fine since we had a drought!
~Remember when I posted the last front yard update? It looked like this….

~Well, it still looks like that! Joe was supposed to pick up the supplies for the garage door trim and start painting earlier this week when he had the morning off but of course, we found water in the basement so he was on clean out duty instead. We were home for 4 days last week and only 4 days this week (plus traveling the 3 prior weekends) so we don't have a whole lot of time to get extra projects done. I'm doing good just to keep the laundry and dishes from taking over.
~Little sister Rachel gets married on Saturday! It should be my last go 'round as a bridesmaid and B is one of the ring bearers. Basically, he just gets to wear a cute outfit. If he actually walks down the aisle, it will be a bonus! He's not always his flamboyant self around strangers at first so we'll see how he does with 270 strangers staring at him. I'm still trying to come up with a special toy for Joe to have up by the alter to entice him. It should be a great time! Plus, B is spending the night with Grandma Rita so I'm really looking forward to just laying in bed until at least 8am the next morning!
~I promise to do better with posting this next month. I have a special 20 month post to get up soon. I can't believe we are on the upswing to TWO!
