Front house remodel: Complete!

21 months old

And by complete, I mean sorta complete.

As a reminder, this was where we left off. As per my usual, I'll let the pictures do most of the talking.

We had this lovely rusty strip on the top of our garage door. A scrub down and a few coats of tan spray paint and that is gone.

The trim part of the garage door was wood with really bad chipped paint. Painting it would have been an easy solution but Joe chose to get aluminum fitted to match the siding. This should be a more permanent solution rather than having to re-paint again in a few years.

The last step was replacing the weather stripping along the garage door and trim pieces to match the new tan color. This is what held up this update as we were waiting for it from Joe's supplier.

Joe took 2 separate afternoons to paint the garage door black.

I still have to paint the storm door but I'm having commitment issues on color so we'll get to that eventually. We also need to do something about that white mailbox that doesn't match anything anymore either. I want to add edging and some simple landscaping on the left side of the garage door. Will also need a bunch of pots of flowers on the patio and a flower bed around the mailbox. Can't forget actually landscaping the center bed. And replacing the roof…

Oh the joys of home remodels. Wouldn't want it any other way.
