This is the last update before the big TWO. It's so crazy because these two years have flown by but I also think it feels like longer that B joined our family.

Sleep: Barrett is still a little off in the sleep category. Joe is having to take him to daycare this last month which means they leave the house at 6:30am. He was rarely up before that time so now that he's getting woken up, he's decided that he needs to be up even earlier. 5am is not uncommon these days. He usually rolls around and entertains himself until 5:45 or so. Hopefully soon we can get back to the 6:30 wake up because 5:00 is just stupid! Bedtime is still at 7pm. Although, he went to bed tonight at 6pm because he took such an early nap. I love those early nights.

It also seems B is having nightmares. He's woken up in the middle of the night randomly a few times and is absolutely beside himself, refusing to stay in his bed. Maybe he's playing us, but we can usually tell the difference between his weak cries and the serious cries. A few of these times resulted in him coming into bed with us which is about the worst night sleep ever. One of these instances happened last night and he ended up in bed with me. At 2:30, I was awoken by a huge thud and a scream. Bubs fell out of the bed for the first time. It was so sad. I think it might be the end of bed sharing.

Food: Kid does not eat. Today, all he had was scrambled eggs for breakfast and mashed potatoes for dinner. Last nights dinner included some strawberries and blueberries. It seems about every 5 meals, he gobbles up everything but the rest of the time? Eh. If he doesn't eat, he doesn't eat. He doesn't get anything else though. It makes no sense. One day he eats chicken, the next he doesn't. He used to eat everything you gave him and asked for seconds. Whatever, not stressing over it.

Size: We haven't been to the doctor in what feels like forever so I'm not sure what size Bubs is but I'm estimating he's hit about 30 lbs. He goes for his checkup the week after his birthday so we'll find out soon where he stands. He's still in 2T clothes. I think I'll start picking up 3T shirts for winter just so he can grow into them but he's perfectly fine in 2T. He definitely is only 2T in pants and will be for a while. It's nice because most of his pants last winter were that size so I won't have to stock up on much. We've definitely got our wear out of all his 2T clothes.

I can't complete this update without talking about Barrett's full on obsession with Toy Story or as he calls it "Wooly." He asks for it as soon as he wakes up and pretty much at all times of the day. It's a good thing he's only home and awake for 2 hours a day because he would be begging for it non-stop. He does not discriminate between which movie it is as long as it has Buzz and Woody. I think I'll make an exception on my "no character" rule and get him a Woody doll for his birthday. I draw the line at clothes though.

Little man is very much into repeating after everything we say. It's really cute most of the time but not surprising, he repeated his first cuss word last week, shit. Thank you, Daddy. Speaking of Daddy, he is very attached these days. They've spent a lot of time together these last few months and it shows. He screams for his Dad in the middle of the night when he gets upset and doesn't like it when he leaves him. They are buddies.

I've stopped keeping track of all of Barrett's words because it's impossible to keep up and remember them all. One of the funniest, yet annoying, words is "No touching" which he says promptly after he's touched either Joe or my laptops. Otherwise, there isn't really any "Barrett phrases" going around this month. He talks like a person and has conversations with us. It's so crazy. Unfortunately, half of those conversations come in the form of a whine because he wants something but we're working on it. He's definitely hit into the stage of wanting to do what he wants to do and won't take no for an answer. Sigh. Good news is he hasn't had another incident of biting someone at daycare so I can chalk the first incident last month as a fluke.

I talked about his new golf clubs last month and I've gotten to see the clubs in action many a time. I know that we as parents have an influence on his interests but the kid wants to do nothing except hit golf balls. If it's not outside with his real set, it's in the living room with his plastic set. There are 15 balls under our furniture at any given time. He doesn't quite grasp the concept of putting though. Golfing is by far the activity that he does the most. There is not a day that goes by that he doesn't hit balls in some capacity. His dad and I are proud! Let's not get into the mega fit he throws when he has to stop though. :)

He is an absolute joy and our constant entertainment.
