We are more than halfway there! Time is flying, you guys. Now you know that we are having a girl so I can start referring to her as a she instead of a s/he! That's always exciting.
Status quo around here for the most part. Something that happened a few weeks ago that isn't really pregnancy related but I got my first bout of pink eye. An awful experience at prompt care (again) but meds were had and it cleared up pretty easily and quickly. I still only have two real symptoms that are worth noting, exhaustion/insomnia and itchiness.
The exhaustion isn't too bad that I'm not getting things accomplished but going to sleep by 8pm and waking up at 6:30am is a little crazy. This is every night. I am waiting for that second trimester energy to kick in. Along, with this I have insane insomnia. Anywhere from 1-5am, I am tossing and turning. I don't even have to wake up to pee at all. I'm usually woken up by Barrett (who is completely incapable of sleeping through the night) and then my mind cannot stop racing about whatever. I usually get my phone out and browse the web to get my brain to shut down. I guess that's why I'm going to sleep before 8pm every night!
And the itchiness! Again, so bad at night while I'm tossing and turning. Joe hates going to bed at the same time as me because I'm a nutcase. I think it's a total mental thing but I cannot stop. It doesn't help that my skin gets dry during the winter. Speaking of winter, I am already struggling to fit into my main winter coat. I have my nicer one that would probably still fit but I prefer not to wear that to work and on a normal basis. I know most people hate being pregnant in the summer because of the heat but I am not super thrilled with this cold. I have to have way more clothes to layer and keep me warm and it looks like I'm going to have to spring for a maternity coat. In the summer, I could wear all my normal dresses!
Just like with Barrett, this week was the first purchase made for baby sister. I found crib sheets on clearance at Pottery Barn that will work great for the nursery and I went to town on Etsy for headbands. I'll probably get the changing pad covers (found at Land of Nod) soon and pretend it's all from Santa. I might as well spread out all of our purchases!
Probably the next big project is to figure out what we are going to name this girl!
