I mentioned last week that the baby has been kicking a bunch lately. He's still at it and it seems he is making it a game to annoy Dad whenever he can. Almost nightly, he will be kicking up a storm and as soon as Joe tries to feel it, it's over. We even tried the flashlight trick with no success. Ha! I kinda love that he's making his dad work for it! And I know it will be very shortly that neither of us will be able to avoid the kicks.

I've been hit this week with a constant need to pee. Even during the first trimester, I could go a full night without having to get up but not anymore. Between 2-3am every night without fail, I've gotta get up. It doesn't even phase me though, luckily. I'm out as soon as my head hits the pillow. I figure it's only going to get worse so I might as well get used to it.
The not so great aspects of pregnancy have started to develop here and there. I noticed this week some new stretch marks on my hips. They are very light and I'd been waiting for them so it's not that big of a deal. I've been pretty adament about keeping up with the lotion but there's nothing I can do about them. I figure it's all genetics anyways so why fret. Back pain has also been lingering a bit. I chalk that up to sitting at a desk all day as well as all the walking I did last week. I know I'm gonna need to suck it up and get a snoogle pillow soon though.
Even though I'm still pretty small, I've noticed a difference in the way I move especially sitting and standing. We have a very tall bed frame which even before I got pregnant, I had to stand on my tip toes to sit into it. I know it's going to be an interesting process of getting in and out of bed in the next few months. I've also noticed that it's really hard to use my abs to sit up when I've been laying down. It's not that big of a deal but it's weird how all these normal functions start to be struggles. I know I have a long way to go and it's only going to get worse but fortunately, these are pretty minor complaints at this point and I'm still really loving everything about pregnancy.

Our agenda for today is to start the baby registering process. I feel like it might be a bit early but we have a very jam packed summer with very few days available to do this from now until our showers. Plus why not get it out of the way when I know I'm comfortable and still excited about it all. I've spent the last 15 plus weeks researching everything under the sun and have lists and books and reviews all ready to go. We've made most of the decisions on what products we want and need. Today will hopefully be the fun part where we can pick out what colors and fabrics we're gonna go with. I don't stress about this kind of stuff and Joe and I are almost always on the same page and like the same things so I think today will go okay. Stay tuned for a bigger update later...

Baby has reached about 1 pound this week. His lips, eyelids and eyebrows are formed and his little toothbuds are ready to pop through for when he starts teething after birth. The iris of the eyes are formed as well but color has not been developed. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a blue eyed like me! Blood is traveling through the umbilical cord at four miles an hour, fueling his growth with oxygen and nutrients. 4 miles/hr? WHA???
I only have 4 more fruits to go. From this point, size changes every 4 weeks but after seeing these fruits, I'm scared.
Yay baby Rufio! You have a nice curve to your prego belly!

I agree that you are getting nice and curvaceous. And lucky for you, the blue eye gene is very dominant in most cases. Post the link to your online registry please and thank you :)
