33 weeks

33 weeks, 5 days

I jinxed myself! My blog post from Week 31 (?) is totally biting me in the butt. I had mentioned then that I was still heartburn free. Whatdoyouknow? I got it this week. Or at least I think that's what it is. For 3 days straight, I came home from work with this weird kinda burning sensation but kinda not. (Way to be specific there, Taryn!) I'm still not really sure but I can't imagine it was anything else. I took a few tums (those are disgusting!) and it went away. It's not painful like I thought it would be, though. It's more of an annoying sensation in my throat and I feel like I have something stuck. Weird. It's been gone for a few days now so who knows?

Week 12 Week 15 Week 18 Week 21 Week 24 Week 27 Week 30 Week 33

This week, I'm really starting to get bored with my clothing options. I completely admit to being a weirdo when it comes to wearing things the same way. Most of the time I can go a month without wearing the same outfit but notsomuch anymore. I know I'm just being lazy and could probably come up with more variety but basically I'm over it. I refuse to buy anything else though so I will have to suck it up. The positive thing in all of this is that the season will be changing here soon so I'm gonna have to bust out my cardigans more which will change up the wardrobe. (Total third world problem!)

The time has come for the ever dreaded...Outie. It's pretty dang flat right now but I have this weird lip on the top that is essentially an outie. I keep pushing it back in but THAT IS NOT WORKING. What can you do?

A quick update on the diabetes front. I met with my endocrinologist on Friday to go over my monthly progress. My H1C was tested again and it went down from 5.6 to 5.4 so she was really happy and assured me that she thought this was strictly a pregnancy issue. No long term complications should arise, at least yet anyway. Also, she was happy with my glucose readings. My fasting rates are very steady and I'm keeping consistent with my meals. Unfortunately, she did reprimand me a bit because I've lost weight since I was in her office last (exactly a month ago). I don't think I should be too concerned as it was barely a lose (only 1 pound) but she seemed to deduce that I'm not taking in enough carbs to grow the babe. She was pretty spot on when she mentioned that I was likely not eating enough because I was too concerned about it sending my blood sugars up. She was 100% correct. I was keeping my carb counts below the recommended number but I've found that if I eat the recommended number, then my blood sugars are through the roof. I just can't catch a happy medium with everything. I'm eating plenty but the foods that I'm eating are lowish in carbs so it is hard to reach my numbers.

So yeah, I'm supposed to talk to my OB on Thursday when I visit to see if they are concerned about my weight gain. I'm right at 10 pounds gained, which I understand is on the low end, but I'm certainly not starving myself. This whole diet thing has just made me more conscious of what I'm eating and when you take almost all the pasta, bread and junk out of your diet, anyone is going to lose weight. My growth ultrasound just over a week ago showed that baby is right on track so I guess I'm not too concerned.

And what do you know? I made sure to stick to my carb numbers this weekend and my readings have been much higher than normal. I'm waiting to hear back from the endo but I'm fairly certain they will put me on insulin. I guess whatever has to be done to get everything in check. We'll see.

33-honeydue

How freaky is it that I can say I'm 8 months pregnant!?! Wowza!

Another new fruit!....Honeydue melon. This week he should be losing more of that "alien" look and tightening of the skin. He is coordinating his breathing with sucking and swallowing to prepare himself for being out in the world. This week, he may be keeping his eyes open while he is awake. I bet there are some crazy sights he's seeing in there!
