Barrett's first birthday party was held on his actual birthday this past Saturday at my parents. We had a pretty insane guest list so we had to cut it off at our families and close friends. Originally, we were going to have it on the back patio but coooold weather did away with that plan.
I didn't accomplish quite everything that I wanted but overall, the party was a success. I was still getting ready as the first of our guests arrived so I was just happy to have clean clothes on. Of course, this meant I got no "before" pictures of the place set up but I managed some after the party was over.
I put together 3 picture banners to hang around. This one is our family banner. I got pictures of B with Joe and myself, pictures of the three of us and pictures with B and each member of our immediate families...siblings and parents. The centerpieces were bowls full of golf balls to go with our golf theme.

Our gift table, which was MORE than full before we opened them. We have generous families. This banner was for Bubs monthly pictures with his tie sticker. I'm reusing this for nursery decor so we can remember how fast he grew in that first year.

This was our dessert and drink space. I made cupcakes and put matching golf toppers in them. I planned pretty well since we only had 7 cupcakes left at the end of the party. The final picture banner hung here with various pictures of Barrett for each month of the year.

We had a few tables set up in the garage as well.

After we ate, we decided to do presents. Barrett could mostly care less but he had fun being the center of attention and at least appeased us with helping. Thanks goes to Aunt Rachel for taking some pictures for me.

Then it was time for Sugar! I'll let the pictures do the talking. I'd say he liked the cake.

We wrapped everything up shortly after 6:00 and thats when nightmare child came out. He had a pretty rough day of whinyness prior to the party, was more than entertained and thus very happy during the party, but after all the excitement was over, he was very ready for bed. We got on his pj's and I managed to snap a few shots of him with a few of his party guests.
