Hall Bathroom: After

1 year, 3 months, 20 days old

We made a new record in our room renovating. Two weeks exactly is what it took to get it done. When we compare sq feet and the project itself to the deck, it doesn't look all that impressive of a time frame, but I'm very happy.

You've already seen the before's but lets compare...

As you can see I painted the vanity white and we added new knobs and hinges.

The new shower curtain, towels and picture frames are from Target. I got different patterns of scrapbook paper from Hobby Lobby for the art.

New toilet paper and towel holders were also from Target. I was specifically looking for hooks to hang towels because I foresee kids having difficulty hanging towels. They also are hung just a little bit lower with kids in mind as this will mostly be Barrett's (and any future kids) bathroom.

The best part of the whole project is the new vanity top. While I think the paint probably made the biggest difference, getting rid of that ugly pink counter made me so happy. It's white quartz with little specs of various shades of gray. It's so pretty in person.

The pretty new vanity top had to get a shiny new faucet too. This was the only small blip in the project. I picked a faucet on one of my solo shopping trips. Joe and I have almost exactly the same aesthetic so he's usually happy with what I pick out. (He probably wouldn't say the same if the roles were reversed though.) It wasn't that he didn't like the style, it was that it was a faucet with a switch for hot and a switch for cold. He is not a fan which was news to me. He says then you have to mess with both controls to get the correct temperature which I can see his point. He went on a solo trip then to return what I purchased and got one that would suit his needs. Done.

Then of course, we had to come up with a solution for the 3 holes in the vanity. A few bucks and we had stainless covers, not a big deal.

And last but not least, we switched out the light fixture. This one is much simpler and easier to clean…my motto.

I love it so much, I catch myself going in there to go to the bathroom way more than I did in the past. Unfortunately, I pay attention to the things I want to change even more now, like the floors and toilet but we'll get there. Now what space will we tackle next?

  1. I really like it! I'm so impressed with how much you guys have done with having a little one underfoot. Can you share where you got the light fixture?
