Easter weekend recap

18 months old!

18 months update coming soon!

We had a jam packed but great Easter in Pontiac this past weekend. Joe and B spent the day together on Friday because daycare was closed. It sucks to miss out on all the fun. I hightailed it out of the office and we were on the road shortly after, hoping that B would sleep. Joe had adjusted naps (which usually always works) so we could get a late night out of him. Stop and go traffic put the kibosh on those plans. We got into town and headed over to Davids for dinner for Uncle Nate's birthday. Bubs was the center of attention, of course. We didn't get there until 7pm (his bedtime is usually 6:30) but he pulled through and couldn't be happier (probably because he knew he was up past bedtime). I ordered him tortellini, not even thinking how much of a mess that would make. Marinara sauce is not a wise decision! We wrapped up there about 8:45 and Grandma and Grandpa had friends over so of course, that meant he got to stay up and entertain the crowd for a bit longer. In the end, B got in bed at 9:30!

The late bedtime resulted in a bit of a late wake up so Mom got to stay in bed until 8am! We lounged around at my parents house that morning and then Joe headed off to get his first round of golf in. Rachel needed to put together all her wedding invitations so that was our morning duty. Barrett was still pretty tired from his late night so he took a long 2 hour nap which was just enough time for us to get it all done. After lunch, we met up with Adelle and Callum for a walk and some play time.

We had dinner with Grandma and Grandpa, Aunt Rachel and Uncle Andy, Aunt Allyson and Uncle Eric and Great Grandpa Moose. Bubs got to have his own Easter egg hunt outside. The best part of this age is we can do an egg hunt with completely empty eggs!

Easter day was a busy one. We all went to 7am mass where B kept entertained by playing peekaboo with the people behind us. The plan was for him to take an extra long morning nap so that he would be good to go for our busy afternoon. You know how they say the best laid plans….. We had a brunch at my parents with some of my aunts, uncles and cousins, then a late lunch at Rita's with the Hendren fam. Kiddo was so exhausted but we stopped to see Grandpa Todd and he pushed through until we got on the road at 6pm.

It always takes a few days to get back to normal after a busy weekend like this and we had to turn around and come back yesterday for one of Aunt Rachel's bridal showers. Our summer is sure to be jam packed like this so all the activity is sure to stay!

Happy Easter!
