Nursery progress 2.5

If you are a long time reader, then you've seen our nursery plans. In our apartment, the babies room was semi-complete. I had just a few decorative touches to add but otherwise, it was pretty put together for Baby T. Now that we have a real nursery in the new house, I wanted to update on where we are.

The room we have chosen for the nursery is the front bedroom. We both had contemplated using the bedroom in the back but because the living room TV will be placed on the wall that is shared with the back bedroom, we figured it might be best to keep the kid farthest away from the community space. The size of the rooms are identical so that didn't make a difference in our selection.

As always, lets start off with the Before pictures of the room. The color in here wasn't so bad. It was a neutral taupe but once we got the white started it turned the color into a definite pinky shade of brown. Against the brown wood trim, it looked fine but against the white, I wasn't a fan.

The closet doors here also look white. When we started painting the baseboards white, it was VERY clear that the doors were not quite. So they got a fresh paint job as well.

The owners left us a pretty dilapidated dresser. We were going to pitch it with a few other things we were "gifted" but I changed my mind and have some fun plans for it in another room.

The walls were pretty dingy and tore up so it took a bit of prep work to get them ready for paint. The ceiling, although white beforehand, also got a coat of white and it made a huge difference.

We're about ready for paint! This was after we painted the ceilings, baseboards, closet doors, window frame and entry door all white.

Now if you know my husband well, you should know that he is obsessed with the color green. If he finds something to buy and it comes in green, he is happy. He always goes for the green. I knew that he would want a green room for the nursery and he sure got green!
